Fair Lawn to celebrate the holidays with unique events

The borough of Fair Lawn will be holding two special activities this holiday season.

Such events are often promoted throughout a town with poster printing.

The first will be a parade of lights at Memorial Park. Jim Van Kruiningen, manager of the borough, said that this will be a drive-through parade. He added that many ideas for celebrating the holiday season were discussed with the Recreation Department. This will be a reverse holiday parade.

The emergency service vehicles from the borough will be decorated for the season with lights and then placed in Memorial Park. Residents will be able to drive through the park and view the lights. A lighting company will also be brought in to add more festive lighting in the park. A holiday gift bag from Santa Claus will be given to given at the end of the parade. This parade will take place this Sunday, December 6 beginning at 6:00 pm.

The other will be telephone calls from Santa Claus to be held over a two-week period in December. Parents can fill out a form on the website of the Recreation and Parks Department to ensure that their children will receive a call. Hours for the calls will be between 4:30 and 8:30 pm with more information on the department’s website.
