The RevNJ Fair Lawn Committee will be holding several events to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Co-Chair of RevNJ Fair Lawn, Liz Maresca, said that this is an opportunity to explore history in Fair Lawn, through reenactments, art, storytelling, and education and to connect the hopes and challenges of today to the past. RevNJ.org is an informational state website about the 250th birthday of the country and considers the state of New Jersy to be the crossroads of the American Revolution.
Co-Chair of RevNJ Fair Lawn and Deputy Mayor of Community Affairs for Fair Lawn, Gail Rottenstrich, expressed her thrill to be able to celebrate the anniversary of the independence of this country. Rottenstrich said they are looking forward to hosting many events this year and next to honor the founding ideals of the United States.
Among the events this year will be Tavern Talks at the Historic Dutch House Tavern, which will feature dialogue and reenactors to connect the past and present issues in the community. This will be on Sunday August 3. There will be a Fair Lawn Chamber of Commerce Street Fair on Sunday October 19 followed by Historic Program Night presented by the Historic Preservation Commission on Monday October 27. Poster printing can be the ideal method to promote local events.
The Kickoff Event of Fair Lawn Revolution 2026 will be at Fair Lawn High School on Sunday January 11 with music, student art installations, and more.
