The annual Junior Police Academy will be held by the Fair Lawn Police Department this summer.
There are spots for 50 people to attend and it is open to residents of Fair Lawn who are between the ages of 11 and 14.
Those who attend will experience a unique insight into the world of law enforcement. The department bills this as a week filled with demonstrations of public safety and law enforcement, day trips, practical exercises, academic classes, physical agility competitions, and team building, among other exciting topics. Such academies often turn to brochure printing to provide more details about topics covered and their special activities.
The Junior Police Academy is one of the dozens of events and programs held by the Community Policing program of the Fair Lan Police Department. This program was established in 1996 and is designed to develop and maintain partnerships between the community and the department.
Applications for the academy are available now at the police headquarters and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. They need to be returned to the department by Monday, July 1 at 3:00 pm.
The Junior Police Academy will run from Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23. There is a fee of $75 for a trip to the Nickelodeon Universe Indoor Theme Park.
