During this month, ShopRite of Fair Lawn will be holding a number of wellness events as a way to take part in National Cholesterol Education Month.
The in-store registered dietician, Dana Gaule, R.D., is leading the events, which are free and open to the public.
September 12 and 26 will be High Fiber Fridays, where there will be a fiber-rich recipe at the Dietitian’s Corner. A recipe card will also be available so people can make thedish at home.
Next Monday, September 15, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, people can learn how to make a healthy and filling meal from five simple ingredients. The next day, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, participants can learn how to create a nutritious salad that can be used for brown bag work lunches or put in kids’ school packs.
On Monday, September 22, from noon until 3:00 pm, the dietician will showcase the produce pick of the month, with a new dish she has prepared. Finally, on Wednesday September 24, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, there will be a make-and-taste cooking class for youngsters so they can learn how to create and enjoy healthy and simple snacks.
As there are so many programs to take advantage of, flyer printing is one form of advertising that ShopRite could use to generate enthusiasm for the various activities.
