Many classes are being presented this fall at the Glen Rock Community School. Residents of Fair Lawn will want to advantage of these educational opportunities, which are available both online and in person.
There are pre-school classes for those between the ages of two and five. The goal of the program is to provide a caring environment for the growth of curious minds and to prepare children for kindergarten. Afterschool enrichment programs will be offered for students in elementary and middle school in such areas as cooking, chess, makerspace, and languages. Before and after care programs will also be offered where students can work on homework or take part in other enriching activities.
Adults will be able to choose from a variety of options, and details about such options are often provided with brochure printing. Among the course selections are ones on estate planning and related topics, oil painting, garden skills, film and movie history, and learning a new language.
New this year will be a course on mastering the New York Times crossword puzzle, which will be an eight-week class. To be held on Thursday evenings and run by Steven Manin, the course will teach students the many tricks in solving a cryptic crossword puzzle and will train the brain to think like a true crossword expert, also known as a cruciverbalist.
