Band from Fair Lawn selected for national parade

Congressman Josh Gottheimer has nominated the Cutter Marching Band of Fair Lawn High School (FLHS) to march in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C in 2021 as the official representative of the state of New Jersey. Nominations are made to Gottheimer’s office for these bands and are not done through an application process.

Director of the FLHS Marching Band, Jamie Szeinberg, expressed his pride of the staff, students, and parents whose efforts over the years have led to this prestigious nomination. He said that the nomination also took him by surprise. Nick Norcia, Fair Lawn Superintendent, added that Fair Lawn is a school district and community which is proud of its performing arts and this honor which enables the town to represent the state at this national event makes him proud to be the superintendent of the district. Paul Gorski, principal of FLHS, congratulated the director, the staff, and the musicians and their families on this achievement.
