Art materials exchange scheduled for February

The second Art Materials Swap will be held by the Arts Council of Glen Rock (ACGR) next month. This is an opportunity for crafters and artists to donate items that are still useable by others to take advantage of. It is considered an art supply swap meet and may be of interest to those in nearby Fair Lawn.

Poster printing is often used to promote such events throughout a town and neighboring communities.

Chairperson of the event and member of the ACGR, Sydney Mangaroo, said that there was tremendous response to the vent last year, which raised over $2,300 towards art scholarships, so that the Council was also able to provide art supplies to schools throughout New Jersey.

The Art Material Swap will be held at the Thielke Arboretum Environmental Education Center. Among the suggested items to donate are paints of any kind, stickers, yarn, and fabric stencils. Also suggested are pottery tools, instructional Books, scissors, rulers, jewelry supplies, and knitting needles.

People can drop off and donate their art materials on Friday February 21 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The ACGR asks that items in similar categories be packaged together to facilitate display and purchase.

The Art Materials Swap itself will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday February 22. Attendees can pay what they wish for items and should bring Bags for carrying out their purchases.
