Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff, about 12 miles from Fair Lawn, has activities for children and adults over the coming months. It offers a petting zoo, farm tours, strawberry picking, pony rides, a market, greenhouse, and winery.
The farm, located at 700 Lawlins Road, opened its petting zoo for children in April and continues renovations. Due to damage to the petting zoo, the owners have installed new drainage, and are working on new buildings and added features.
The petting zoo allows children to feed and pet ducks, chickens, goats, and bunnies. Animals can only be fed certain foods from the market.
Strawberry Picking at Abma’s Farm begins in June, with dates and times yet to be announced.
The farm will have a Blood Drive for the Central Jersey Blood Center on June 3, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Abma’s Summer Camp runs from June 25 to the end of August, with weekly sessions for children ages 5-7 and 8-10 available. Kids learn about gardening and farming with hands-on activities..
Activities include designing and planting a garden, cooking, composting, learning about farming machines, and more.
Abma's Farm is open Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Fair Lawn has printing services that can assist farms, wineries, supermarkets, restaurants, garden centers, and businesses with design and brochure printing for marketing purposes.
