Designed for expecting mothers in Englewood, a yoga program will emphasize techniques to enhance connection with their babies while preparing for labor and delivery.
The Prenatal Meditation and Yoga sessions focus on breathwork and posture, aiming to reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and promote a sense of calm and well-being.
Part of the family lineage series of The Rodgers Family Meditation Program, this is suitable for those with little or no knowledge of yoga or meditation, as well as to those who are already experienced in the two disciplines. The program offers participants a chance to engage the instructor as well as other enrolled mothers-to-be in a friendly and cordial setting. Participants are encouraged to wear loose-fitting clothes and ensure there is water available. Printing services can help put together a list of items required for such an event.
Mary Ann Fernandez, a certified yoga teacher and meditation instructor, will lead the sessions. Fernandez’s expertise focuses on helping future mothers achieve physical and emotional balance during pregnancy. Through guided practices, the program seeks to equip participants with tools to manage the challenges of pregnancy and prepare for childbirth.
Registration for the six-session series costs $100 before December 31, increasin to $120 after that date. Advance registration and payment are required.
The Graf Center for Integrative Medicine will offer a six-session series on prenatal meditation and yoga, with the first class on Tuesday, January 14 at the Englewood Hospital, starting at 7:00 pm.
