Training exercise targets Englewood medical teams

A training exercise that is part of an EMS Training collection will be happening in Englewood.

The Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Hybrid Course aims to improve patient management in emergency situations while strengthening the abilities of individuals providing prehospital trauma treatment. The American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma, which is in charge of the program’s medical direction and content, collaborated with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians on this globally recognized PHTLS continuing education program.

Eight hours of online education plus eight hours of in-person training at the Englewood location make up the 16 hours of instruction that make up the PHTLS Hybrid Course. Prior to attending the classroom section, participants must finish the online modules, and on the day of the in-person course, they must provide a printed certificate of completion. Only the classroom session is covered by Eventbrite registration; attendees must acquire the necessary textbook and online courses individually. Certificates tend to feature Letterheads on them.

To make sure students have finished the needed online work and acquired the relevant resources, registration for the in-person session closes on the Friday prior to the course date. While non-workers must pay a $100 registration fee. Englewood Health staff are eligible for the course free of charge.

The EMS Training Center in Englewood will host its Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Hybrid Course on Saturday, August 2nd.
