Englewood training draws medical professionals

Englewood Health is set to offer training course for health care professionals.

The class is just one in Englewood Health’s EMS Training series and is geared toward paramedics and nurses. It provides an opportunity for advanced training in the assessment and treatment of emergency medical situations.

Third edition of AMLS program uses realistic scenarios in a case-based learning approach to teach students to recognize and react to common medical emergencies. The curriculum includes group discussions, patient history analysis, scene size-up, and differential diagnosis to practice decision-making as they would in real-world medical emergencies. Interactive case scenarios allow students to hone their skills in systematically evaluating a patient’s condition and determining a treatment plan.

The 16-hour hybrid course is 8 hours online and 8 hours in the classroom. When a person registers on Eventbrite, they are only paying for the in-class portion of the course. They must complete the online portion and obtain course materials on their own time. Course materials, including the Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) Third Edition textbook, online modules, and course manual, can be purchased through PSG Learning.

Students must go to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) website to complete the online portion of the course and have a printed copy of the certificate of completion when they arrive for the in-class course. Printing services can be used to Print important documents.

Englewood Health will host the Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) Hybrid Course on Saturday, November 1st at the EMS Training Center.
