Englewood to put on French ballet

The ballet titled "Giselle" is set to be performed at a popular venue in Englewood this March.

Premiering in Paris in 1842, this ballet has since been performed in many theaters worldwide. The performance draws inspiration from a tale written by Heinrich Heine, depicting a tale of the souls of maidens crossed by lovers.

The story tells how the maidens become consumed by despair, and transform into vengeful spirits, known as Wilis, seeking retribution against unsuspecting young men under the cover of night.

The event will feature the musical motifs of Adolphe Adan and choreography by Marius Petipa, Jean Coralli, and Jules Perrot. The libretto draws from the works of Théophile Gautier, Jean Coralli, and Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges.

Attendees should note that there is no elevator access to the mezzanine and balcony sections of the venue, ensuring the event is accessible to all patrons.

The cost to attend the event will range between $35 and $65. Tickets can be purchased through the Bergen Performing Arts Center’s website, where individuals with questions regarding the event can also find the organization’s contact details.

Poster printing can be a great way for organizers to provide the community with information about events such as this one.

The date and time for the performance will be Sunday, March 3, starting at 4pm. The Bergen Performing Arts Center is the venue, which can be found at 30 N Van Brunt St, Englewood, New Jersey.
