What's Happening in Edison, NJ…

A rodeo is on the schedule in Edison—though a different kind to the usual.

Two organizations, Keep Middlesex Moving (KMM) and the Mobile Family Success Center (MFSC), are teaming up to host a series of Bike Rodeos at various locations throughout Middlesex County. The event is coming to Edison, where families will be able to learn how to avoid obstacles as they ride their bicycles.

During the event riders will face several obstacle courses as well as other challenges, and two bicycles will be raffled off. Edison Township, the Edison Municipal Alliance, and the Edison Police Department are all supporting the rodeo, helping everyone in Edison to learn to ride safely. Community resources and refreshments will be provided for free.

Bike rodeos are held throughout the country. Some are large community affairs and others are much smaller, but all have the same goal – to teach bicyclists how to ride safely. A rodeo could include such elements as a helmet check, a bike check, following the rules of the rode, and more. Flyer printing can be used to provide instructions for events like this.

The Bike Rodeo in Edison is scheduled for August 7, from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon. The venue is Papaianni Park, and families and children are encouraged to attend. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is August 21. If it becomes necessary to reschedule or cancel the event, Edison Township will post the information on its social media pages.
