What's Happening in Edison, NJ…

A fishy event is on the schedule in Edison, and everyone is welcome.

The Fly Fishing Show is a three-day event scheduled for the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center. In addition to vendors with fishing gear, celebrities and authors will attend, as well as expert tiers.

The International Fly Fishing Film Festival is part of the event, as is a Fly Fishing Show Learning Center. The center includes classes in casting, how to tie flies, and other information. The learning center is included in the admission. Special classes given by experts will be available.

Author Steve Woit will have antique fly fishing tackle on display, and will be available to evaluate equipment such as reels, rods, flies, and other items. A special historical display of equipment made by the Orvis Company as early as the 1800s is planned. Events like this can benefit if organizers use flyer printing to create a map of the venue.

Hours and admission fees are as follows: January 23, from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm; January 24, from 9.00 am until 6.00 pm; and January 25, from 9.00 am until 4.30 pm. Adult admission for one day is $20; two days is $35; and three days is $45. Children five and under are free; admission for youngsters 6 through 12 is $5. Scouts in uniform under 16 are free, and fees for military personnel with ID are $12. The film festival is January 23, and tickets are $20.
