Cinco de Mayo party brings celebrations to Edison

Edison residents who are seeking a way to celebrate their Mexican heritage, along with others who wish to learn more about Mexican culture, will want to save the date for an upcoming celebration.

The Cinco de Mayo Party is being planned by the Mount Zion Lodge No. 135 in Edison next month, giving area residents a welcoming setting to celebrate their heritage or learn more about a different culture. The date commemorates an unlikely victory by Mexican forces over France in the nation’s quest for independence.

Interested parties are invited to dust off their sombreros and lace up their dancing shoes for what organizers are sure will be a fun afternoon. The party is the next in a series of annual gatherings raising money to support the Square and Compassion Foundation. Printing services can assist organizers of such events with promotional tools like Flyers and Posters that can be placed around the town.

Omar S. Morris, the Grand Master of Masons for the State of New Jersey, will be the guest of honor. Attendees will receive tequila tastings, a drink ticket, Mexican cuisine, games and prizes, and entertainment with their registration.

The party is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 starting at 2:00 PM. The Danish Home of Edison on New Durham Road will host the gathering. Tickets are $60 and are available online.
