Town near East Hanover to hold Tourette Syndrome summit

Next month, the NJ Center for Tourette Syndrome (NJCTS) will hold the NJCTS Teen and Parent Summit in Morristown, near East Hanover.

The NJCTS is an organization that helps families whose children have Tourette Syndrome (TS) through providing referrals for medical treatment and diagnoses, as well as coordinating family support throughout community and partner organizations and proving education and training on TS to medical professionals. The summit is typically hosted as two separate events, one for parents and the other for teens. This year, however, they will be hosted as one collaborative event.

The event will provide parents with an opportunity to meet with other parents who are raising or have raised children with TS. They will also be able to listen and talk to psychologists and neurologists who specialize in the condition. Teens will be able to participate in activities to help build self-confidence, develop connections with their peers, and talk with adults who have recently graduated high school about the transition into either college or the workforce.

Summits like this may present an ideal opportunity for those attending to hand out Business Cards as they form connections.

The summit is scheduled for February 11 from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm. It will take place at The Academy of Saint Elizabeth on 2 Convent Road, Morristown, just 15 minutes from East Hanover.
