East Hanover hiking course to cover animal encounters

TrailBound Project will hold the Bear Encounters & Hiking Workshop in East Hanover next month for anyone interested in learning more about outdoor safety and survival skills.

A hiking and backpacking school in New Jersey, TrailBound Project is taught and run by search and rescue professionals. The school offers all levels of courses and challenges in hiking, backpacking, first aid, and navigation. The three-hour workshop in September will pull from both the Hiking Basics & Safety course and the Hiking Gear Essentials course. This workshop will not be available for certification.

The Bear Encounters & Hiking Workshop will teach attendees how to handle a variety of mishaps that may happen when hiking on trails. Attendees will learn what to do if approached by a bear or other wild animal, and how to identify which plants are poison ivy and which are harmless. Instructors will also go over the best water filtration system and shelter to carry.

Informative workshops like this may benefit from including printed learning materials, such as Brochures or pamphlets, that students can follow along with during the class. These materials can be printed affordably at many local Print shops.

The outdoor workshop is slated for September 14 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. It will be held at REI, 280 New Jersey 10, East Hanover.
