This June, as part of the Celebrating 250 Years of Revolutionary History in Morris County event series, East Hanover will host the Colonial Drinking Songs and Toasts Concert.
The event will feature Anne and Ridley Enslow as they perform a concert of colonial drinking songs and toasts that were popular during the time of the American Revolution. Annie and Ridley Enslow are a musical duo that recreate music of American history, combing their lively performances with well-researched history lectures. Their concert will shed light on the musical traditions of everyday colonial people.
There will be lively toasts and intriguing tales about this era, including a discussion of the origins of the national anthem, the role of rum in the American Revolution, the Battle of the Kegs, and amusing sayings from Benjamin Franklin. No registration is required, and there is no fee to attend, but seating will be first-come, first-seated.
Educational events like this may include informative Brochures to give out to attendees who can then read up on the background of the event. Organizers may visit local Print shops that offer affordable brochure printing services to prepare these materials.
The Colonial Drinking Songs and Toasts Concert is scheduled for June 30 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will take place at Morris County Library, located at 30 East Hanover Avenue.
