East Brunswick will host literacy educators, clinicians, and advocates this October for the Forty-First NJIDA Fall Conference 2026.
Organized by the New Jersey branch of the International Dyslexia Association, the conference will explore the theme, “Framing the Future: From Data to Dynamic Literacy Instruction.” The program will consider how current research and data can guide literacy teaching, dyslexia identification, intervention, and support for diverse learners.
The in-person program will open with registration and exhibits, followed by a welcome address from Patricia Barden, Director of The Children’s Learning Center of Tenafly. Emerson Dickman, a past president of the International Dyslexia Association, will introduce keynote speaker Charles W. Haynes. Haynes will discuss the International Dyslexia Association’s 2025 definition of dyslexia and its implications for earlier identification, instruction, family understanding, and school-based support. A session led by Natalie Dougherty of the New Jersey Department of Education will also provide updates on state literacy initiatives.
Attendees will have opportunities to visit exhibitors and choose from morning sessions. Conferences such as this may also use banner printing to display research findings, share session information, and communicate key literacy messages to participants.
The NJIDA Fall Conference will take place in person from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Hilton East Brunswick Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, 3 Tower Center Boulevard, East Brunswick, NJ. A virtual program will follow on Saturday, October 17, from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with recorded sessions available until October 20.
