A community softball tournament is set to take place this July in East Brunswick, organized in memory of Robert Hrapsky Jr., a Highland Park resident who passed away unexpectedly in 2023.
Friends and neighbours created a memorial fund shortly after his death, hoping to support local students in a way that reflects the kind of person he was.
The scholarships are aimed at Highland Park High School students who show the traits people most associate with him: commitment, loyalty, and a steady work ethic.
Hrapsky grew up in Highland Park and spent much of his life involved in local sports and community events. According to those who knew him, his passing left a noticeable gap, and the fund became a way to keep his influence present in the community through student support and gatherings like this tournament.
This year’s games will be held at Raritan Bay Waterfront Park in East Brunswick. Along with softball, the afternoon will include food, raffles, and various other activities for families. With teams preparing shirts, Banners, Posters, and other materials, Print shops in the area may be called upon when an event like this is arranged.
The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, from 1 pm to 5 pm. Parking is free throughout the tournament, and attendees may begin arriving at 12:40 pm.Get a Free Quote for Print Get a Free Quote for Banners Get a Free Quote for Posters
