East Brunswick residents with a love for cuisine and cooking are in for a memorable learning experience, as a local chef is offering a themed cooking workshop.
The Cooking Class: French Classics Continued with Chef Jean is getting ready to welcome students for an immersive cooking experience under an experienced instructor. Students who enroll will learn how to make roasted ratatouille, endive salad, mousse au chocolat, and beef bourguignon, with Chef Jean providing tips and instructions throughout the cooking process.
No previous courses are required to sign up, and beginners are welcome to join the experience. Students who participate will enjoy a setting where they can learn new techniques and build confidence that they can use to prepare meals at home. The course is built around hands-on experiences. Print shops are an effective resource for organizers who want to provide professionally printed recipes and instructions to students at such workshops.
Skills that are taught include prep and knife skills, vegetable roasting tips, and the best ways to time multiple dishes. Students will also learn the principles involved when making classic French desserts. All of the skills can carry over to the home.
The cooking class will be held on Thursday, February 19th, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Maricel’s Kitchen in East Brunswick will host. Registration costs $103.22 per student online.
