East Brunswick fair launches charity activity

The Middlesex County Fair Charity Challenge will take place this August in East Brunswick, giving nonprofit organizations across Middlesex County an opportunity to raise funds while competing for an additional cash prize.

Sponsored by Solitario & Tierney CPAs, the initiative will take place throughout the 2026 Middlesex County Fair.

The Charity Challenge is open to nonprofit organizations that operate in Middlesex County and hold an IRS tax-exempt determination letter. Each participating charity will receive a donation jug placed in the Charity Challenge Arena, where fairgoers can contribute to their preferred organization during the week. At 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 9, representatives from each charity will count the cash collected, with the organization raising the most money receiving an additional $500 prize from the sponsor.

Participating charities may attach a single 8½-by-11-inch black-and-white information sheet to their donation jug, although pamphlets and other promotional materials are not permitted.

Along with donation containers for participating organizations, signage such as Banners and informational displays are commonly produced for community fundraising events, and organizers are expected to work with local Print shops for those materials.

The Middlesex County Fair Charity Challenge will run from August 3 to 9 at 655 Cranbury Rd, East Brunswick. Organizations interested in participating must submit their entry by Wednesday, July 29. Only cash placed in the donation jug will count toward the prize total, and charities that have won the sponsor's $500 prize within the past two years are not eligible this year.
