Cherry Hill unlocks secrets of sustainable gardening
Cherry Hill gardeners do a good turn for the environment with each seed they plant, and an upcoming workshop will help them make their own patch even more sustainable.
The presentation facilitated by Bess Trout, who is a content and production specialist at the Tyler Arboretum, will help point the way to a simplified form of ecological gardening. Those who participate will find out how they can maximize the positive impact of their own plot, and both members and non-members of the arboretum are welcome.
During the workshop the attendees will discover a variety of ways to garden sustainably, and soil health, creating wildlife habitat and horticulture practices that prevent erosion and conserve water will all be discussed. All levels of “green thumbs” are encouraged to attend, and its run time is two hours. Anyone who is interested in finding out more is asked to contact education@morrisarboretum.org.
Many home horticulturalists are eager to keep on learning and workshops provide them with an opportunity to do so while they meet others who share their interest. Copies of handouts for an activity can be prepared by a brochure printing company.
This introduction to the art and science of ecological gardening has been planned for the evening of December 7. Its scheduled start time is 4:00 PM at 100 East Northwestern Avenue in Philadelphia.
