Cherry Hill takes part in Red Kettle drive
For many years, red kettles have been a common sight during the holiday season, raising money for those in need, and a local venue is participating in this program.
Throughout much of December, Cherry Hill Mall will be providing space for the Salvation Army Kettle Drive. This fundraiser often makes a big impact, and is a volunteer-driven activity.
The initiative will see “Santa’s helpers” manning the donation station set up at the mall’s entrance, and all donations, no matter how large or small, will make a difference according to organizers. The proceeds will be used for projects such as community feeding programs that address food insecurity, and local homeless shelters will also benefit. Monies are also used to fund holiday hamper programs for families in need and other projects. The activity continues the Red Kettle tradition which first took place in the USA in 1891.
