The Cherry Hill Public Library has extended an offer to its patrons that it hopes will help to fill the shelves at a lock food pantry.
The Library will be running its Food for Fines program throughout much of April. This will not apply to rental fines as well as lost Books and ILLs, and donations can be dropped off in the venue’s library.
The patron who would like to take advantage of this amnesty can leave their contribution at the collection station that will be set up, and for each food item that’s dropped off, the library will forgive fines for one book. To help make the process easier, a list of non-perishable food stuffs that are most in demand has been prepared, and it includes items such as canned fish, vegetables and soups, juices, boxed macaroni and cheese, instant mashed potatoes and peanut butter. These will be distributed to local families and individuals in need.
Raising awareness of a food or donation drive or other not for profit campaign can go a long way towards helping ensure it will be a success. A poster printing company will be happy to lend a hand.
Cherry Hill Public Library will have the donation box for its Food for Fines donation drive open from March 30th until April 19th. Further details as well as a list of items most needed can be found on the Library’s website.
