Cherry Hill offered opportunity to help save a life
Cherry Hill residents will soon be able to perform a potentially lifesaving deed, and all they have to do is roll up their sleeves.
The Red Cross has organized a community Blood Drive, held at 700 Laurel Oak Road in Voorhees Township. Both blood and Power Red (a highly concentrated red blood cell donation) options are on the agenda, and those who plan on participating can choose which type of donations they wish to make.
Once they have arrived at the venue, potential donors will register. They will be asked to provide an ID, and there will be a brief discussion about the process. Other information will also be collected. A basic health check will be performed, and if all is well, it will be time for the attendees to make their donation. Depending on which type of contribution is being made, the process can take anywhere between 10 minutes for whole blood to two hours for platelets.
Once the donation process is complete, donors will be invited to have some light refreshments, and they can then go about the rest of their day. Stickers, promotional pens, and other small items can be distributed to the participants in such an activity to thank them for their generosity.
This opportunity to become an everyday hero will be welcoming donors from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10. The online registration process can be completed by visiting the Red Cross website.
