Caldwell kids to enjoy nature based learning
Fall can be a great time of the year for making outdoor discoveries, and a Caldwell area walk will offer this experience to local pre-school and kindergarten-age kids.
The Roseland Free Public Library has set the date for an outing that will explore the autumn woods, and it has enough space to accommodate up to 20 children. It will be held in the afternoon, and will be led by a representative of The Essex County Environmental Center.
The activity will see the kids who take part get some hands-on experience with nature and scientific skills. While they enjoy themselves, they will learn about collecting, sorting and identifying a variety of seeds and fallen leaves. The goal is to provide a fun and easy introduction to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and the group will head indoors after the walk to listen to a story, make a themed craft, and view a traveling exhibit that includes an assortment of specimens and accompanying facts.
Kids may really enjoy making discoveries about the world around them at a structured activity such as a workshop class. Observation journals, record sheets, species checklists, and simple field guides can all be prepared by stationery printers to use during a nature-based learning activity.
This afternoon of outdoor discovery will welcome attendees at 4:00 pm on Monday, October 28. RSVPs can be submitted through its Patch listing.
