Caldwell area organizes electronic recycling day

Computers and other electronics may require special recycling techniques, and a Caldwell area activity will do a good turn for Mother Nature by disposing of them properly.

Essex County has organized a day that will see the public drop off items for recycling, and this service is free to all of its residents. They will need to provide proof of residency to access this service, and it is not intended for businesses.

The collection point will accept computers, monitors, printers, fax machines, telecom equipment and other communication gear. Televisions, irons, toasters and old cellular phones will also be welcome. Carbon monoxide alarms and smoke detectors cannot be accepted, and the drop off station will be set up at Essex County Fleet Management located at 99 W. Bradford Avenue in Cedar Grove. It's been requested that the items be left in the vehicle’s trunk, and there will be personnel on hand to unload them. Anyone who has questions can call 973-792-9060.

Grassroots level environmental action can make a big difference, and a recycling day or other activity may make it easier for the public to get involved. A flyer printing company can prepare mailers and other materials that can keep local residents informed about area events.

Essex County has scheduled its Computers and Electronic Recycling Day on May 17th. It will be on from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm.
