The art of going bonsai is a horticultural practice that originated in Japan, and a Caldwell area activity will soon bring it into the 21st century.
Seven Tribesmen Brewery is preparing to host a winter bonsai workshop, and everyone who participates will learn the basics of the craft. It will be led by a knowledgeable instructor, and everyone can take their plant with them when they head home at the end of the activity.
The facilitator will teach how to plant, prune, wire, and use other techniques to make their tree grow in a desired shape, size, and style of planting, and these can range from classical to modern. Everyone will gain hands-on experience, and while they work, they will be able to sip on a selection of their choice from the venue’s bar. A guarantee is in place that will provide a replacement tree for anyone with one that did not make it.
Craft and sips, plant and sips and other special activity-based gatherings have become increasingly popular in recent years. Stationery printers will be pleased to supply materials such as tip and instruction sheets to hand out to the attendees.
This opportunity to pick up the basics of bonsai in a fun and supportive environment will be running from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, February 23. The venue is located at 1151 NJ-23 in Wayne.
