Caldwell kids offered nature-based learning

Caldwell kids who are interested in nature will be able to make lots of discoveries when they are part of an activity that will explore how wild animals prepare for winter’s cold.

Preschoolers are the target audience for the Getting Ready for Winter activity that will be on offer at Van Vleck House & Gardens. It's been organized by The Montclair Foundation, and it will run for 45 minutes.

The kids that attend the session will discover how both plants and animals have adapted to cope with the cold. The presenter will lead the group through an outdoor visit to the gardens and a story, and then everyone will be able to make a simple craft to keep and take home. A parent or guardian must remain on site with their child throughout the activity, and both members and the general public are welcome to participate. A discounted registration fee will be offered to those with a membership, and signups must be completed at least one day in advance.

A session that includes nature-based learning aims to be both a fun and informative experience for children. Stationery printers can prepare Copies of handouts, as well as registration Forms and waivers, that help take care of the "housekeeping" side of hosting an activity.

December 17 will see Caldwell families discover how the wild world around them prepares for winter. It will begin at 1:00 pm at 21 Van Vleck Street in Montclair.
