Veterans service organizations show spirit of cooperation
Two groups that provide services to veterans in the North Conway and Conway area have joined forces to mark Veterans Day, and the leadership of both noted that they hope this is to be the start of continuing cooperation between the two.
Frank McCarthy who is the commander of North Conway’s American Legion Post 95 and Audley Williams, who is the new commander of Conway’s Ralph W. Shirley American Legion Post 46, remarked that they are pleased to be collaborating with one another. On Veterans Day, Post 95 took charge of organizing the Parade and other events in North Conway, while Post 46 hosted a luncheon in Conway for veterans and their families.
The commanders remarked that they will keep the spirit of cooperation going by working together to host post 46’s Thanksgiving Dinner, and also Post 95’s Christmas Day Dinner. Both noted that they enjoy working with one another, and that it makes a lot of sense for them to do so.
They also mused about the idea of one day combining the two into one organization that would be attractive to both new and older veterans and currently serving military personnel. Should this one day happen, a printing company will be able to produce items such as letterheads, promotional pens, business cards, and any other printed items that may be needed.
