North Conway residents to learn about local mushrooms
An interactive and informational workshop is coming to the North Conway area in a few weeks, allowing nature lovers and culinary enthusiasts to learn more about local mushroom species.
The Harvest Mushroom IDing class, presented by the Conway Public Library will offer a fun learning experience in the great outdoors. The class will be led by Eric Milligan, a mushroom expert and the owner of the New Hampshire Mushroom Company. Milligan will share his knowledge during an interactive walk.
Attendees will learn how to locate, harvest, and enjoy wild mushrooms from around the North Conway and White Mountains region. Brochure printing provides a way for event organizers to provide more information to guests at such events while limiting information overload.
Interested parties are also encouraged to bring any interesting mushrooms they have found at home to the learning experience, and to store them in a paper bag for safety and optimal freshness. Milligan will use his expertise to identify the mushrooms and determine if they are safe to consume. He hopes to educate attendees of these events on the wonders and benefits of this unique class of organisms.
