North Conway workshop to make visiting the woods safer
A North Conway workshop will add some extra safety to the joys for visiting the woods.
North Conway REI is offering a two-day Wilderness Safety Training workshop, and the facilitator for the activity will be a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Instructor. The goal will be to help create positive experiences by teaching how to recognize and minimize risks, and it will take place in a classroom setting.
The sessions will address safety in the woods right from the initial planning process, and the planners say it is suitable for any experience level. It can be especially useful if they will be travelling beyond the range of the usual first responder care. Leadership will be discussed, and the value of reviewing lessons learned from a crisis will be included. Tickets for the function start at $245.
There are spots for up to 20 learners in this event, and it is intended for those who are 18 and up. Print shops can supply training manuals and other texts to distribute to the registrants in this sort of workshop, and a printer can choose from a variety of binding techniques to complete the items.
