North Conway workshop to explore animal tracks
The tracks they leave behind can reveal a lot about the animal that made them, and North Conway’s armchair naturalists who participate in a winter workshop will discover the stories they tell.
Dr. Rick Van de Poll will be the host for an online activity that will investigate animal tracks, and both common species and ones that are a bit rarer will be included. At least 30 types will be covered, and the attendees will also be invited to view a series of slides that will accompany each example.
Along with discovering how tracks can be used to identify a species, the group will also learn more about how they have adapted to survive in the cold and snow. The basics of terminology used in the field is on the agenda, and the event is being offered thanks to the Tin Mountain Conservation Center.
Offering the public a chance to take a seat in a workshop like this can help them to become better stewards of their environment. A poster printing company will be able to assist the organizers in marketing the function to the public, which is often key to the success of an occasion.
This chance to learn more about tracks and the animals that make them will begin at 7:00 pm on February 11. The organizer’s website includes a link to register for the session.
