An annual bike ride is in the works in North Conway, providing a challenging course that takes participants through the mountains and nature of the Mount Washington Valley.
The Holderness 100 Century Ride is getting set to open registration to interested road cyclists who want to challenge themselves on one of the Northeast’s most challenging courses. Interested parties will have three distances to choose from, with the longest option covering the full 100-mile circuit.
Other courses include the 80-mile option for an intermediate challenge, and a 30-mile course that is an ideal fit for beginners to cycling. The 80-mile course will follow the Franconia bike path, while the 30-mile course goes over the Kancamagus Highway.
Cyclists who accept the 100-mile challenge will have the support of a sponsored follow vehicle with water, snacks, and medical supplies. Flyer printing can promote such community events around the town to increase registration and fan turnout. The shorter routes will receive support vehicles for the first half of their rides, with the back half of the circuit going unsupported. Participants are encouraged to train leading up to the race day and to bring ample water for hydration and safety.
Cyclists will meet at the White Mountain Visitor Center in North Conway at 7:30 AM on Saturday, August 16th. Registration is open online with pricing available at checkout.
