North Conway was recently honored by a well-known travel organization, and this could prove to be a boon for its tourism operators.
Lonely Planet, a group that has published 130 different tourism guidebooks since it first started back in 1973, placed the town in its number five spot in its Best of 2015 list. It came to this decision based upon input from its writers and editorial staff who are based in the U.S.
The reason for the selection was the partly the old-time charm they feel the town has, as well as the large number of different activities that go on here all year long. There is everything from rock climbing to hiking, biking, canoeing, paths to stroll along, and even the Conway Scenic Railway. Since 2015 marks the 250th anniversary of the town receiving its charter, Lonely Planet feels it is an excellent time to visit and enjoy everything that North Conway has to offer.
A designation like this can have a big positive impact on the tourism based economy of the town, and also those industries that support them.
