What's Happening in North Conway, NH…

North Conway kids to take steps to support literacy

Kids can make a real difference in the world, and a North Conway area fun run will see the supporting children’s literacy initiatives.

The annual Believe in Books Literacy Foundation’s Fun Run is set to go ahead, but some adjustments have been made so everyone will be safe. It will be held at Intervale’s 100 Acre Wood, and each participant will receive a free pass to Story land, which will allow access for the entire day.

For a registration fee of $10, any child who takes part in the fundraiser will be able to choose from three different race courses, and each will be a different length. The start items will be staggered to make social distancing easier, and the runners will have a window of one and a half hours to get started. Medals and swag will be distributed individually at the end of the course, and advance registration is necessary. A virtual option is also available.

The funds raised from the run will be used to help support the organizer’s Bookmobile program. T-shirts and medals with the function’s graphic design can be pressed for the kids in an event like this by area printers.

This activity in support of local literacy programming is scheduled for June 13. Runners are welcome to arrive at any time between 9:00 am and 10:30 am.
