North Conway event to honor former firefighter
North Conway will be among the communities hosting a Tunnel to Towers fundraiser, and the whole community is encouraged to participate.
Whether they will be walking, running or rolling along in a wheelchair, stroller or mobility device, everyone is welcome to be a part of this five kilometer long event. All ages can participate, and registration will remain open until the morning of the race.
Along with recognizing the efforts of Stephen Siller, a firefighter who lost his life tackling the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, the event will pay tribute to all military personnel and first responders. Firefighters who register to take part are welcome to wear their turnout gear, while military members can wear their rucksack or backpack, and everyone is asked to wear their numbered race bib for the duration of the activity.
The organizers of this fundraiser noted that both monetary donations and gifts in kind from the local business community will be most appreciated. Including the logo design of any companies or groups that sponsor an event like this in its promotional materials can be a welcome way to thank them for their support.
