Former L.L. Bean retail center sold
The building which used to house the L.L. Bean shopping plaza in North Conway may need some new banner printing in the near future; the plaza has been sold to OVP Management, Inc – a company based out of Newton, Massachusetts – for $1.4 million.
The company also owns nearby Settlers' Crossing, Settlers' Green, and Settlers' Corners.
The Conway Daily Sun was told by Dot Seybold, retail manager for OVP, that the firm is going to look at all of its options, and will seek to determine how to best use the site, taking into account its position within the community. Speaking further, she said it will be a lengthy process.
Constructed back in the 1980s, the site was empty for several years following the relocation of L.L. Bean to Settlers' Crossing. The sale gives several neighboring sites to OVP's ownership, all surrounding the Settlers' Green Outlet Village.
Robert Barsamian, a real estate developer and OVP Management’s principal, also plans to develop a hotel at the end of Barnes Road, on the site that used to house an athletic club. Barsamian is also involved with the organization that has plans to develop a building at the site of the former North Conway Drive-In, behind T.J. Maxx and Northway Plaza. That building is sized at 80,000 square feet, and rumors have pinned it as the site of a future Market Basket.
