Omaha Triathlon celebrates 10 years with new venue

The Omaha Triathlon is all warmed up to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The event now has a new home. Racers will now navigate the waters and trails of Standing Bear Lake in northwest Omaha.

The Omaha Triathlon is an officially sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the national body overseeing triathlons to make sure they are safe and fair.

Participants in the triathlon’s main event will take on a 1,500-meter swim, a 40-kilometer bicycle ride, and then a 10-kilometer run. There is also a Sprint Triathlon which covers about half the distance.

Last year’s full triathlon at Werner Park was won by Andy Vasquez, with a time of 02:00:07.0. Close to 200 people took part in the event.

There is still time to register for this year’s race. Visit Race Omaha’s website to register online. Race Omaha is a non-profit organization with a mission to promote healthy living in the community.
Racers will receive a special Omaha Triathlon shirt, and all finishers will get a commemorative 10th anniversary medal.

Event sponsors can use printing services like banner printing and poster printing to promote their involvement, and race organizers can also use Print shops to create large Banners at the start and finish lines.

The 2019 Omaha Triathlon and Multisport Endurance Festival takes place on Sunday, July 21 at 6:00 am.
