A statewide transportation conference will convene planners, advocates, government representatives, and residents in Omaha this October.
The event will involve discussions about improving walking, bicycling, and other Forms of active travel. The 2026 gathering will focus on how transportation access and public safety influence infrastructure planning, funding decisions, and community programs.
The daylong program will introduce collaborative workshops designed to encourage participants to exchange ideas and develop potential solutions. Concurrent breakout sessions will approach similar transportation issues from different perspectives, with some emphasizing technical implementation and others examining neighborhood-level strategies.
Programming begins with breakfast, networking and short presentations highlighting transportation projects around Nebraska. A morning session will examine findings from a newly completed statewide trail study assessing economic and health effects associated with trail networks. Additional discussions will explore policy, infrastructure, and practical approaches to making communities safer for people traveling without automobiles.
Standard registration costs $97.88. Nonprofit employees and public officials may register for $75. Attendees traveling from beyond the Omaha and Lincoln region can purchase the Greater Nebraska option for $65.87. Student admission is $33.85.
Refund requests are accepted until seven days before the conference. Limited complimentary guest parking will be available.

The summit is scheduled for Thursday, October 22 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Barbara Weitz center for community engagement, 6001 Dodge Street, Omaha.
