Metropolitan Community College will host the fourth annual Teachers of Creative Writing Community Conference TCWCC in Omaha this November.
The conference will bring together instructors from community colleges and other student-related writing programs.
The 2026 conference theme is “Connection,” with sessions expected to examine how instructors build meaningful classroom relationships in settings where students may enter, leave and return at different points in their education. Programming will also address teaching strategies, writing exercises, grading approaches and challenges associated with open-enrollment and smaller institutions.
Conference activities begin Thursday afternoon and continue through Saturday morning. Organizers also plan optional evening activities away from campus. Registration includes coffee service and a boxed lunch on Friday, while a grab-and-go lunch for Saturday may be purchased separately.
Attendees will also receive complimentary admission to Metropolitan Community College’s 10th annual Creative Writing Forum, which begins at noon on November 7th. Poet Diannely Antigua, writer of Ugly Music and Good Monster, is scheduled to serve as keynote speaker.
General admission costs $92.55 including a $7.55 Eventbrite fee. Refund requests may be submitted no later than one week before the event. Free parking will be provided.
Organizers of professional education conferences often use poster printing to promote keynote speakers and other relevant information.
The 2026 TCWCC Conference for Teachers of Creative Writing is scheduled from Thursday, November 5th, through Saturday, November 7th, at Metropolitan Community College, 5300 North 30th Street, Building 23, Omaha, Nebraska.
