Omaha’s Lauritzen Gardens has organized an outing that will visit sandhill cranes in the wild.
The garden will be hosting a two-day excursion that will follow the Platte River, offering chances to view huge flocks of the cranes on their way north. There will be plenty of opportunities for photo buffs to capture the spectacle, and other species may be spotted as well.
The agenda for the outing includes both sunset and surprise viewings, and these will be private events hosted at Rowe Sanctuary in Nebraska. The registration fee for the trip includes hotel accommodations, transportation, snacks, and meals, and it will also make a stop at The Crane Trust. The planners say the function may not be suitable for those who have mobility challenges. Both Gardens members and non-members alike can take part, and tickets start at $360 each.
The spring and fall migration periods offer many opportunities for birders to enjoy the hobby, and organized outings can help make the most of the season. A poster printing company often proves to be a valuable partner in promoting these activities.
The Sandhill Crane Migration Trip for 2022 will begin on March 29 and continue on through March 30. The final date to sign up is Monday, February 28, and this can be completed by visiting its online listing.
