Lauritzen Gardens offers Omaha residents a variety of ways of connecting with nature, and local families who register for the November installment of its Lil’ Sprouts program will learn all about some feathered friends.
This initiative gives families a time to learn, play and explore together, and this month’s topic will be owls. The participants will be encouraged to use all their senses during the activity, and it will incorporate hands on learning.
The facilitator will guide the group through games, songs, stories and other fun, and they will also explore the gardens, making discoveries about owls as they go. They will learn about their habitat, how they hunt and raise a family, and each ticket allows admission for one adult and one child. The planners explained that it may be a fun outing for kids to attend along with their parent or another carer.
An activity like this gives the youngest residents a fun way to learn about the world around them. Coloring sheets and other educational materials for the occasion will be on offer at area Print shops, which can custom design them for a particular occasion.
Lauritzen Gardens will be introducing Omaha kids to owls on November 3. The registration fee is $18.00, and it is for children from the ages of three to five. It is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am.
