Omaha event to introduce wonderful world of warblers

With the arrival of spring, many species of birds will be making their way back to Omaha, and a local event will provide a deep dive into some of the smaller species.

Warblers will be the stars of the show for the Warbler Walk, which will be on offer in early May in Lauritzen Gardens. Both members and non-members may add their name to the guest list for the outing, and the ticket fee starts at $10.00.

The walk will be led by Jim Locklear, who is the venue's Director of Conservation, who will introduce the group to the 23 different warblers that may be found on site. Many of these small birds are very colorful, and they migrate using a flyway that follows the Missouri River. The activity is on offer as part of the Gardens’ celebration of Nebraska Migratory Bird Month.

Birding is an activity that has grown in popularity in recent years, and it encourages people to get out and enjoy nature first hand. Species checklists, record sheets and other ways of recording observations, along with sheets of helpful tips and promotional Pens, can be prepared by Stationery printers for an event.

This introduction to the colorful world of warblers that call an Omaha venue home will be taking place on May 4th. It will begin at 9:00 am.
