Thousands of cyclists will take to the streets of Omaha Sunday for the biggest one-day bicycle event of the year in the Mid-West.
The 2019 Corporate Cycling Challenge raises money to improve the cycling trail network in and around Omaha.
Proceeds from the event go to the Eastern Nebraska Trails Network, which has donated more than $175,000 to develop and maintain multi-use trails in the area since its inception in 1992.
The ENTN acquires and develops new trails, advocates for pro-cycling legislation and tries to raise public awareness of the importance of cycling and trail development.
Last year’s ride attracted more than 4,400 cyclists and raised more than $8,000.
There are three divisions in the ride – corporate, individual and group. There are also three different trails tailored for novice, intermediate and serious riders. The longest ride is 42 miles and runs to Fort Calhoun and back through rolling hills.
This year’s route has a new start and finish area at Riverfront Drive. Events like these attract thousands of participants and even more spectators and are opportunities for businesses and sponsors to reach a large audience with printing services.
Riders can also order special cycling jersey and shorts featuring the official 2019 Corporate Cycling Challenge colors and logo.
The 2019 Corporate Cycling Challenge takes place on Sunday August 18, 2019 at Heartland of America Park and Fountain, 800 Douglas St. in Omaha.
