Omaha celebrates holidays in style

The annual ‘Christmas at Union Station’ event is taking place throughout the month of December. Hosted by the Durham Museum, it promises activities to please everyone in the family.

The event will kick off with a Tree Lighting Ceremony on November 28 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It will feature cookie decorating, holiday crafts, a visit from Santa, and the lighting of the large indoor Christmas tree. This will be followed in later days by an ethnic holiday trees exhibit and a holiday concert series.

Other events taking place include Family Nights with Santa every Tuesday night in December from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This is set to include live reindeer, arts and crafts activities, and entertainment from local choirs. The Ethnic Holiday Festival is planned for December 5 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It is expected to feature more than 20 different cultural organizations. There will be cultural crafts, costumes, dance and music. Food and gifts will also be available for purchase.

Families all over Omaha will probably want to attend at least one of the events. To inform them of upcoming events, organizers often invest in the services of local printing companies.

Christmas at Union Station is taking place at the Durham Museum from November 28 to January 4. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Visit the museum website for more information.
