Black Friday in Omaha will be anything but black as millions of festive of holiday lights will be turned on in a special holiday lighting celebration.
The 16th Annual Holiday Lighting Celebration is a free event that features lights, Santa and his elves, and a parade.
The merriment gets started at 6:00 pm with The Peppermint Elves Family Holiday Concert at the Children's Hospital & Medical Center Amphitheater.
Core Bank is the main sponsor of the event. Core Bank representatives will hand out bells to kids, and free cookies and hot apple cider.
The jingle bells will be jingling all the way when Santa Claus arrives at Center Court & Roundabout at 7:00 pm. The Arlington High School Marching Band will lead-in Santa, who will arrive in a Cinderella carriage with other holiday characters. After the parade, attendees can take part in free rides on the carriage.

The event coincides with a much larger celebration of lights throughout downtown Omaha. The area is turned into a winter wonderland with more than one million dazzling lights. It marks a month-long celebration that includes outdoor ice skating, live music, and other cultural shows, culminating in a fireworks display on New Year's Eve over Heartland of America Park.
The event takes place Friday, November 29 at Village Pointe Shopping Center, 17305 Davenport Street from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
