The Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival will take place at Coventry Campus from August 10 - 11. General admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. VIP tickets, which include five tastes of wine and a souvenir glass or a beer, are $12.
In addition to wine, there will be a hot air balloon launch and balloon "glow," musical entertainment, a community festival, and a food festival. There might even be a chance to ride in a hot air balloon. While there will be wines from around the country, there will be a specific Nebraska wine showcase for those who wish to learn about this relatively unknown treasure. The community festival will feature a Marketplace Village, with arts and crafts for sale and display, and a KidZone, which will feature pony rides, bounce houses, an obstacle course, face painting, and balloon sculptures.
Sponsorships are available for $500 and $1,000. The $500 sponsor will receive mentions in all event advertising and on the tickets, while the $1,000 sponsor will have a banner with their company logo displayed in the hot air balloon launch site. Omaha printing companies will probably be providing the banner printing services to the organizers of the festival. Banners are reasonably inexpensive, very versatile, and can be made from a variety of materials.
When many think of wine production they think of California or the Niagara Region. However, there are fine wines produced throughout the country, including Nebraska. The festival should definitely open some eyes to more possibilities.
