ASL educational course takes place in Omaha

The University of Nebraska Medical Center is providing a one-day Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) refresher course this October.

This course is designed to provide a thorough review of the secondary and primary assessment principles for trauma incidents. Attendees will be taught how to evaluate, resuscitate, stabilize, and manage trauma patients and coordinate inter-hospital transfers to ensure optimal care. The course will not consist of lectures, and attendees will be required to pass two exams for successful completion.

This refresher program is specifically intended for licensed surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare providers who currently hold or are within six months of an expired ATLS certification.

Participants will earn 5.5 continuing education contact hours upon successful completion of the course. The cost to attend will be $375. This fee will include lunch and an ATLS manual.

Due to limited availability, there is a $100 fee for cancellations. Additional fees will apply for transfer to a different course date or for late returns of course materials. No refunds will be given for cancellations within two weeks of the course date or for no-shows. Registrants are encouraged to email the organizer for any changes or cancellations.

Brochure printing can be useful in providing attendees with take-home course information from events such as this one.

The event will take place on Friday, October 11th from 7:30 am to 4 pm at Davis Global Center, 4111 Emile St, Omaha, Nebraska.
